GMKA and OpenEvidence Discuss Access to AI-Powered Clinical Resources for Ukrainian Physicians
The Global Medical Knowledge Alliance (GMKA) team met with representatives of OpenEvidence, an AI-powered platform that helps healthcare professionals quickly access scientific evidence and clinical guidelines. The discussion focused on opportunities for Ukrainian physicians to use the platform and ways to raise awareness of this resource within Ukraine’s medical community.
OpenEvidence is a specialized tool for searching and analyzing medical information. Physicians can ask clinical questions and receive structured, evidence-based answers with references to scientific publications and clinical guidelines. The platform draws on resources from leading medical journals and organizations, including The New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM), JAMA, Cochrane, and the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN), among others.
“Access to reliable, up-to-date medical information is essential to providing high-quality patient care. This is central to GMKA’s mission. Through our educational platform, healthcare professionals can access evidence-based materials, online courses and webinars, practical guides, and other educational resources. At the same time, we recognize the importance of expanding access to additional tools and technologies. OpenEvidence helps physicians quickly find scientific evidence, review clinical guidelines, and navigate the growing volume of medical information,” said Kateryna Potapova, MD, MHA, PhD, Co-Executive Director of GMKA.
The platform is designed to support clinical decision-making, not replace physicians’ professional judgment.
