The selection process for the GMKA observership program is multilevel, with candidates evaluated on factors such as medical qualifications, motivation, leadership potential, and English proficiency. Successful candidates are then connected with observership coordinators from Harvard University and other partnering institutions.
The cost of participation varies depending on the specific observership opportunity. In some cases, the observership is free for medical doctors, residents, and medical students, with fees often covered by GMKA. Participants may also be eligible for scholarships that partially or fully cover living expenses, flights, and visa applications.
The observerships for Ukrainian medical specialists at some of the world’s leading medical institutions are organized through a unique collaboration between GMKA, Heal Ukraine Group, and the Harvard Scholars at Risk (SAR) program at Harvard University.
